Lois Lane Playboy BunnyHere’s to Lois Lane and another amazing outfit. This time in a Playboy Bunny outfit popping out of a cake.

Checkmate Indeed

Red QueenWarning Spoilers ahead for the Smallville episode “Checkmate”

Looks like Tess Mercer is figuring out everyone’s secret identity, we’d better keep her away from Batman. Although Tess figuring out Green Arrow’s secret identity was very reminiscent of Batman and Catwoman figuring out each others secret identity in Batman Returns.

I did like how Martian Manhunter, when talking to Clark, referred to everyone as a team.

I didn’t enjoy the slow-mo action at the beginning of the episode with Green Arrow jumping from rooftop to rooftop. And Ollie come on with Tess it’s always a trap. But I guess that is the downfall of man, they are blinded by the women they love. I did however really enjoy the slow-mo at the end where Clark rescues Chloe, I guess becuase that was more stills except for the slightly moving bullet.

Also good to see Amanda Waller as a tough character, she always seems less intimidating in the cartoons, but then Pam Grier is a pretty intimidating woman.

And who is the Red Queen? I am sure people more into Superman than I already know that answer, but I don’t. Guess I’ll find out soon enough.

Lois Lane ScottishWarning spoilers for the Smallville episode “Escape”.

Yay for the Clue reference. Actually though it was Tess Mercer, in the barn, with the pistol. Tess manages to be the first one to find out that Zod now has his powers.

Another yay for Chloe & Oliver having matching PJs. Which led to a nice akward moment for Chole, Lois, Clark & Oliver. Not as akward a moment though when Chloe snaps out of the spell from the Siobhan and is in a towel in the arms of Clark.

And of course the biggest yay goes out to Lois. Once again, Lois manages to work an amazing outfit into the story line somehow. Gotta give it up for Lois Lane in a Scottish outfit, definitely one of her top 5 outfits ever.

tessThat is what Tess Mercer asks Davis Bloome. She then goes on to tell him he will bring out Superman.
Tess: “Maybe we would remember Jesus as a only teacher roaming the desert.”
Davis: “I don’t quite understand what you are getting at.”
Tess: “Without Judas, Jesus would have never risen from the dead to come back and face his greatest challenge. Saving humankind.”
One question becomes though is Davis actually Judas, or is Tess Judas, and Davis the Romans?

On another note. I think reading comics growing up makes the experience of watching shows like this different for me. When it looks like Chloe might have killed Davis, I know that wouldn’t be the end. I know they also won’t kill of Lois, or even Oliver in this show. The powers that be at DC would never allow it. Just like they got around to making Wolverine origin comics once the X-Men movies started happenning. Comics are the cannon for the superheroes. Yes I know that Chloe has now been added to the Superman comics, becuase she was in Smallville, but I don’t think that has played a major role in the overall scope of the Superman comics. Maybe it is new and exciting for people who haven’t read lots of comics, but to me it is tiring when people are in danger, that I know won’t die. I like seeing Chloe in danger, because to me the possibilty exists, that she will actually die.

The Same Street

infamousI am getting really tired of looking at the same S street in almost every episode of Smallville. The latest time they had it is at the very end of season 8 episode 15 “Infamous”. Watch closely from now on. I am sure it will crop up again.
